Chinese bulker owner Winning Shipping has continued its hunt for bargains in the capesize segment with the purchase of a three-year-old unit from Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) of Japan.
Sources say the Imabari-built 181,000-dwt Galaxy Dream (built 2013) has been acquired for just $26.5m.
UK-based online platform VesselsValue says the ship is worth $27.7m.
TradeWinds' weekly edition today reports that a one-year-older sistership Shining Dragon (built 2012) has gone for the same price.
