Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is set to hold talks with three other major Japanese shipbuilders about further consolidation.
MHI says it plans to discuss about forming “alliances” with Imabari Shipbuilding., Oshima Shipbuilding and Namura Shipbuilding.
The four shipbuilding groups are said to offer “strong potential as mutually complementary, synergy-generating partners that would collectively provide Japan's commercial ship industry with robust global competitive strength.”
