Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime is closing in on the acquisition of a pair of boxships from Germany’s Offen Group, sources say.
TradeWinds reported on Friday the 8,845-teu sisterships Santa Laura (built 2006) and Santa Livia (built 2007) were thought to have changed hands in a $29m en bloc deal.
While market chatter initially linked Evangelos Marinakis with the pair, Zodiac is now understood to be in pole position to land the vessels.
