Japan’s government has raised a complaint against more than $4bn in state-sourced financial aid over a five-year period for Korean yard DSME.

It made the move at a two-day meeting of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) shipbuilding working group.

Japan’s complaint is that South Korea's government has played a key part in the financial restructuring of the troubled shipbuilding company through its state backed banks, Korea Development Bank and Export Import Bank of South Korea, both of which are creditors and shareholders in the shipyard.
