A lack of offshore facility orders is jeopardising thousands of sub-contractor jobs at Korea’s DSME shipyard.

The Yonhap news agency cited industry sources as saying on Wednesday that the restructuring shipbuilder had failed to clinch vital contracts to guarantee work.

DSME reportedly has 11 offshore plants on its books, six of which will be handed over this year.

It has 5,400 sub-contracted staff involved in the work, sources said.
