Pleiades Shipping of Greece is said to be ordering up to four medium range 2 (MR2) tankers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, several months after ditching another order for three panamax product tankers at ailing STX.
Brokers say the order involves two firm 50,000-dwt vessels, plus two options.
They are said to be costing about $33.5m each for delivery in 2018. Managers at the Constantine Peraticos-controlled company were not immediately available to comment.
