Resuscitated South Korean shipyard DSME may come through this year but it could struggle in 2018, according to shipbuilding market analysts.

One Korean analyst tells TradeWinds that with the shipbuilder’s restructuring and cash injections from the banks approved, DSME may get further help by being given additional naval contracting work.

He thinks the company can easily pull through 2017 as the profit margin for the 50 LNG carriers that the yard has on its orderbook is better than for other shipping sectors.
