South Korea’s major shipbuilders continue to reduce their shipbuilding capacity to combat the weak market.

Industry players say DSME is looking to sell one of its three remaining floating docks. The bank-controlled shipyard had five units but sold one last year and another in March.

A Turkish company is said to have bought a 1959-built, 50,000-ton dock to use for ship repairs, while a Korean construction outfit has acquired a 28,000-ton dock.
