Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries has raised KRW 160bn ($141m) by selling an idle block plant.

The Asiasis wensite said the move to offload the Dadaepo factory and two buildings at Busan was part of its self-rescue plan.

The deal is expected to close on 31 October. One of the "partners" involved is Samkang Metal, the report said.

The yard has a restructuring plan to focus on merchant ships at its Subic shipyard in the Philippines, while constructing specialist vessels at Yeongdo in Korea.
