State-owned Sinotrans CSC Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSC-SBICO) is reducing its capacity in line with the poor shipbuilding market.
The Chinese group controls yards in Jinling, Qingshan, Jiangdong and Yichang but only one appears poised to continue with an active ship construction orderbook.
Industry sources say Jinling has a relatively healthy order backlog and a good record. Clarksons lists it with 28 newbuildings, with a few of its 2019 berth slots booked.
