Vard Holdings says its Langsten yard has been invited to "continue negotiations" for the construction of three vessels for the Norwegian Coast Guard.
Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Defence Minister Ine Soreide announced the plans for the construction of three new Coast Guard vessels last September. The vessels would replace three 30-year old vessels.
The contract is said to be worth NOK 2bn ($250m) for each vessels.
