Three in 10 shipowners are likely to place newbuilding orders in the next year.
This is according to a survey of 2,500 shipping industry figures from 69 countries carried out by Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC), the organiser of the SMM exhibition in Germany.
The SMM Maritime Industry Report shows that "the industry is looking to the future with confidence," it said.
