DSME rewrites strategy to focus on commercial ships

In a shift of strategy for South Korea’s second largest shipyard group, DSME is turning its focus to building commercial ships.

DSME president and chief executive Jung Sung-leep tells TradeWinds in an interview that his company will reduce its exposure to the offshore business.

“The offshore units used to make up 60% of DSME's total sales while commercial ships only contributed 30%.
