A “Shipyard subsidy game” (as a 7 December Wavelength article by Terry Macalister called it) is the last thing Japan wants to see. That is why, at the OECD Working Party on Shipbuilding, Japan has raised the issue of certain countries’ massive state support for shipbuilding and has led discussions on bringing international discipline to the industry.

I appreciate that TradeWinds' article drew attention to the important fact that there are many unfair practices all over the world, but I’d like to correct one point.
