China's Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has splashed CNY 60m ($9.24m) on a holding in a composites company.

Its Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding acquired 10.6% of Suzhou Jiumei Fiber Glass, which is listed on the NEEQ exchange in China.

Suzhou Jiumei specialises in the development and production of glass fibre reinforced plastics, one of the most widely used composites materials in the shipbuilding industry.
