Restructuring Korean shipbuilder DSME has lost a KRW 1.58 trillion ($1.4bn) platform deal.

It said a European client had cancelled an order signed in 2013.

The unnamed customer had delayed starting the project due to the downturn.

Work has not yet started on the platform, so there will be no immediate financial impact, DSME added.

Korean media also reported that a second ex-CEO has been charged in connection with a fraud investigation into alleged accounting irregularities at the yard.

Ko Jae-ho, 60, who was in charge between 2012 and 2015, is accused of fraud and breach of trust by Seoul prosecutors.
