A new research project for ship design and production has been funded by the European Commission (EC).
The EC has granted EUR 6.2m ($6.96m) for the scheme Ship Lifecycle Software Solutions (SHIPLYS), which will consist of a team of 12 maritime companies and universities.
The main objective of the programme is to improve the competitiveness of European shipyards by supporting SME naval architects, shipbuilders and shipowners.
