Ridgebury Tankers is believed to have locked one of its VLCCs into a time charter contract.
Ridgebury, typically a spot-focused company, has fixed the 306,400-dwt Ridgebury Pioneer (built 1999) for six months to Litasco, according to rumours circulating among shipbrokers.
A rate of $29,500 per day was placed on the fixture for the Samsung-built tanker.
TradeWinds is told the tanker has been fixed on a time charter at a higher rate but that Lukoil division Litasco is not the charterer involved.
