Awilco, the tanker company of the Awilhelmsen group, has again seen the value of its investments fall.
Together with Wilbur Ross outfit Transport Recovery Fund (TRF), Awilco ordered four eco-friendly VLCCs for $97m each in 2014. They were all delivered in 2016 but VesselsValue estimates the ships to be worth $75m to $76m today.
In July last year, Awilhelmsen managing director Sigurd E Thorvildsen said the company hoped to make further tanker investments and also was inspecting bulkers.
