A Euronav-owned VLCC became the first to make layberth at a US Gulf Coast oil terminal as the tanker industry pins hopes on increasing exports to boost tonne-mile demand.

The 299,500-dwt Anne (built 2016) made its way to through the Corpus Christi Ship Channel Friday. It will come alongside a dock at the Ingleside oil terminal.

The port call is not a commercial transit, though, as the channel's depth will not allow the Anne to load a cargo.
