A company thought to be affiliated to Greek owner Marios Iliopoulos is being linked to the purchase of an 18-year old aframax that previously was in the fleet of Teekay Tankers.
Teekay reported last month that it had sold the 113,400-dwt Kyeema Spirit (built 1999) to unidentified buyers for $7.5m. The vessel was to be delivered to its new owners in late May or the early part of this month, Teekay management said in a presentation to analysts at the time.
