Dutch salvor Smit has been brought in to help refloat a Singapore-managed tanker that has grounded off Kenya.

The Star daily said the 84,000-dwt Theresa Arctic (built 1988) got stuck last Tuesday off the Kilifi coast.

The Raffles Shipmanagement-operated tanker is carrying 27,500 tons of vegetable oil.

It was en route from Mombasa to Port Klang.

Kenya Ports Authority head of corporate affairs Bernard Osero told the newspaper that 28 June is a possible date for refloating.
