VLCC chartering activity slipped to the lowest level for more than a year last week.

Just 12 of the tankers were fixed out of the Middle East Gulf, the smallest figure seen in 14 months, according to Morgan Stanley.

Analysts led by Fotis Giannakoulis say the week began with supply and demand looking tight but the limited number of fixtures changed the picture.
