Peninsula Petroleum started up physical supply operations in the port of Barcelona.
The John Bassadone-led company said it positioned a bunkering barge, the 7,500-dwt Alliance Spirit (built 2007), to the port as part of the new initiative.
Peninsula said the move comes after an analysis and customer conversations about the Spanish market. It said that, despite Barcelona being on the busiest European ports, there is a "seasonal shortfall in marine fuel supply capacity."
