Angelicoussis VLCC newbuildings in line for long Chevron charters

Greek shipowner John Angelicoussis is lining up long-term employment with Chevron for a series of VLCC newbuildings ordered at DSME. 

Negotiations between Angelicoussis-led Maran Tankers and one of its closest charterers are ongoing, shipbroking sources told TradeWinds this week.

Some brokers believe an eight-year bareboat contract for the 318,000-dwt quartet booked last week is already in place at a rate of $23,000 per day.
