The United Nations Security Council Committee Concerning Libya has sanctioned the 4,100-dwt products tanker Capricorn (built 1989) for a four month period ending on 21 October.

The UN alleges that the vessel transported gasoil that was illegally exported from Libya, based on information received from the Government of Libya.

Sanctions have previously been applied on vessels that have carried oil sold by the breakaway National Oil Company in rebel-held Benghazi, which the Libyan government based in Tripoli says has no legal right or authority to export Libyan oil.
