US Venture has agreed not to ship or store crude through the port of Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Business Times reported that the deal is part of the terms of an amended lease.
Potential crude operations raised safety concerns over a spill among opponents, the report said.
US Venture is still planning to export ethanol to Canada and Europe by constructing a 1,000-feet-long pipe from its tanks to the port's cargo terminal, however.
