A listing tanker has run aground following a collision with a bulker off Antwerp.

Belgian media reported the incident took place on Wednesday morning on the Scheldt river.

The 41,000-dwt tanker Seatrout (built 2006), controlled by German Tanker Shipping, was in ballast. It was leaving Antwerp at the time, bound for Russia.

An initial refloating attempt failed, but another will be made in the afternoon at high tide.
