A Ukrainian tanker fired on by Libya's coastguard last week has made it back to Malta.

AIS data shows the 9,700-dwt Goeast (built 1977) at anchor off the island on Thursday.

Reports claimed it had capsized or sunk after the incident off Bukhamash on Friday.

The coast guard opened fire with 30mm ammunition after several attempts were made to contact the vessel, but the crew did not respond, the Libya Akhbar website cited the maritime information bureau as saying in a statement.
