Greece’s Chandris and Malaysia’s AET have locked VLCCs into period deals as charterers aim to snap up ships ahead of the busy fourth quarter, but shipowners in the segment remain wary.

Chandris has reportedly fixed out the 306,000-dwt Ellinis (built 2007) to French oil major Total for up to two years. The deal is for one firm year at about $26,000 per day.
