South Korea’s H-Line Shipping has become the latest shipowner to dive into the VLCC space, booking two newbuildings at compatriot Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Shipbuilding players said the LPG carrier and bulker owner has contracted the Ulsan-based shipyard to construct the 300,000-dwt crude carriers for delivery in late 2019. The deal does not include options.

An H-Line executive said no order of VLCC newbuildings has been placed, but he acknowledged the company is looking to enter the segment.
