US-listed tanker and bunker group Aegean Marine Petroleum Network (AMPN) has acquired a port services company from its founder for $367m.

It has agreed to buy all of HEC Europe, the parent company of Hellenic Environmental Center.

The price includes debt and is payable in cash and shares, which will represent 33% of AMPN's equity.

The selling shareholders are companies owned and controlled by Dimitris Melisanidis, AMPN's founder and former head of corporate development, as well as members of the Agiostratitis family.
