Venezuela's state-owned PDVSA oil group has settled a cargo dispute that saw one of its aframaxes arrested in Curacao last year.

The deal for an undisclosed amount means the 99,000-dwt Proteo (built 1993) is free to leave and PDVSA can dispose of the crude on board, the Curacao Chronicle reported.

The ship was held on 30 December with a load of 400,000 barrels of Boscan crude in Bullen Bay.
