Swiss engineering and construction group Proman has formed a new management company to operate its fleet of 12 methanol tankers.

The petrochemical venture, Proman Shipping, will be based in Wollerau, Switzerland.

The idea is to build on the company’s current shipping offering, it said, to boost fleet utilisation, delivery optimisation and synergies among group companies.

The 12 tankers were previously time-chartered by its subsidiary in Trinidad, Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited (MHTL).
