Very large crude carriers are set for additional dock space in the coming years along the US Gulf Coast as an energy logistics firm wraps up a test run for a large tanker.

A spokesman for Enterprise Products says the Navios-owned 297,377-dwt Nave Quasar (built 2010) made a successful docking alongside its Texas City Terminal in Galveston Bay.

The Texas City Terminal, co-owned by Enterprise and Canada's Enbridge, was also the site of one of the first cargoes of light crude oil known as condensate that was exported out of the US prior to lifting of the export ban.
