Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves (ISPRL) has unloaded its first cargo of Abu Dhabi crude from a VLCC in Mangalore.
Exporter Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) said it has a deal in place to send 5.86m barrels of oil for storage there.
ISPRL has built three underground storage terminals for the business.
The first shipment was 2m barrels.
