Overseas Shipholding Group's (OSG) second-quarter results stayed roughly in line with year-ago earnings amid "softness" in spot tanker rates.

The Sam Norton-led company reported net income of $3.1m, a shade off from $3.2m during the same period last year. Earnings per share slipped one cent to $0.03.

Shipping revenue were $95.4m, down 0.9% from a year earlier mostly due to OSG's active fleet diminishing by two to 24, the company said.
