Kyoei Tankers has reversed a year ago loss to start the new financial year with a profit, figures disclosed by the company show.

The Japanese tanker owner made a profit of JPY 124m ($1.1m) for the period ended 30 June 2018. A year ago it lost JPY 121m.

The Tokyo-listed shipowner was helped by a near 19% year-on-year increase in revenue, which came in at JPY 3.6bn.
