The 50,000-dwt Ardmore Seavaliant (built 2013) is the first of four MR tankers ordered at South Korea’s SPP Shipbuilding.

Ardmore Shipping confirmed that the newbuilding has been fixed to Cargill for twelve months.

TradeWinds first reported the charter in mid-January and said the commodities giant was paying $15,350 per day for the ship.

The IMO III product and chemical tankers are said to include features which are anticipated to reap fuel savings of 10 to 15%.
