State prosecutor Abdelqadir Rawdan said: "The crew willbe released and expelled.”
Reuters cited him as adding that three Libyan rebel fighters who had boardedthe tanker will stay in jail.
The seafarers are from Pakistan, India, Syria, Sudan andother unnamed countries.
Rawdan said they were still being investigated but it wasclear that they had acted at gunpoint.
The 36,000–dwt ship (built 1993) arrived in Tripoli on Sunday.
