Euronav – which has previously suggested ‘eco-ships’ do not exist in the large tanker sector – says a newbuilding suezmax will only save three tonnes of fuel per day compared with a retrofit in perfect sea conditions.
This advantage could easily be lost through poor operations, the tanker owner’s annual report argued.
