Thome strengthens tankers

Singapore’s Thome Ship Management has brought in a former AP Moller-Maersk man to run its tanker fleet.

Dane Steen Nygaard Madsen becomes chief operating officer on 1 June, it said.

“He brings with him solid experience in running ships, stemming from his seagoing career as well as his time with AP Moller in Copenhagen where he was operationally responsible for a large section of its fleet,” it said.

Madsen has also been technical director of Nordic Tankers/Herning Shipping.

He also has experience in overseeing newbuilding projects from various yards in Denmark, Germany, Korea and China.

Thome has more than 200 vessels under technical management.
