Denmark's Terntank has added two optional LNG-fuelled products tankers to its order at Avic Dingheng in China.

The owner now has four vessels on order at the yard.

Finnish oil company NEOT has also confirmed they are taking two of the ships on charter.

The 15,000-dwt vessels will be handed over from the spring of 2016 until early in 2017.

"Terntank elected to declare its two options because there is considered to be a demand for energy efficient and environmentally adapted tanker tonnage," it said.

The company has claimed they are the world's most eco-friendly ships, consuming less than 14 tons of fuel per day, compared to conventional vessels' use of between 22 tons and 25 tons.
