Saleh bin Nasser al-Jasser will take over on 3 August.
The appointment was made by Saudi Airlines chairman Prince Fahd bin Abdullah.
Al-Jasser has 30 years of experience in business management and maritime, land and air transport.
He has been head of Bahri since 2010 and has overseen the massive merger with Saudi Aramco VLCC arm Vela International.
