Mitsui’s Westport Petroleum has chartered the 76,000–dwt BW Zambesi (built 2010) to load in Galveston, Texas, shipping sources told Reuters.
The 400,000-barrel cargo, sold by Enterprise Product Partners, is being marketed to Asian customers.
The vessel will earn $1.8m for the one-way trip through the Panama Canal.
By the end of the year, as much as 300,000 barrels could be exported each day, according to an analysis by Citibank.
