Fernando Fonseca, director of the National Agency of Water Transport (Antaq), told a Sao Paulo forum that the government needs to amend chartering regulations to incentivise private investment in the sector.
He said the agency has detected “anticompetitive practices” among the various modes of transportation in Brazil and imperfections in the market, according to a description of his speech on the Antaq website.
