Navig8 commercial director Jason Klopfer acknowledged the discussions in response to a query from TradeWinds, but declined further comment on any aspect of the deal.
Klopfer also declined comment on the second major move being tied to Navig8 in market reports -- the supposed purchase of eight suezmaxes from German owner Konig Cie.
However, other sources in the market tell TradeWinds they believe rumours of the suezmax sale are wrong.
