The owner reached two collective agreements with the Canadian Merchant Service Guild covering 30 engineering officers and  38 navigation officers.

The two sides had sought help from the country's federal mediation and conciliation service after previous collective agreements expired on 31 July, 2013.

No strike action was taken in the dispute.
