Macleod has been managing vessels for Frontline 2012 via start-up Highlander Tankers and seems to have impressed shipowner John Fredriksen.
"Through the engagement of Robert Hvide Macleod we have gained a talented individual with in-depth knowledge of both shipping and oil trading,” Fredriksen said.
Macleod declined to comment on the development or what his appointment at Frontline will mean for Highlander when contacted by TradeWinds.
