GE told the Bombay Stock Exchange this morning it had signed a contract to buy a 48,700-dwt tanker, which was built in 2004 in Japan.
While GE does not identify the vessel by name, TradeWinds reported on Monday the ship involved is the 48,700-dwt Bright Pacific (built 2004).
No price was disclosed in the stock exchange statement, but shipbroking sources had placed a figure of $14.4m
